Victoria Walton is an emerging visual artist based in Baltimore City. She has a BFA in Ceramics from Towson University and is a 2023 MFA Candidate at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. She engages in a multidisciplinary ceramic practice, utilizing a variety of materials to bring her sculptures to life. Victoria shares her unique perspective on how cultural histories and personal experiences manifest themselves internally and externally. Her focus revolves around the body, exploring the beauty and complexity of black identity, creating work that touch on themes such as trauma, resiliency, queerness, gender, and healing of wounds over time. She is passionate about seeing equity in the ceramic arts, pushing to see more opportunities for ceramicists of color and others in the black community, in Baltimore and beyond.
